- Provide organizational leadership, and work on development of enhanced policies, procedures and practices that advance graduate education and research at UNLV
- Handling graduate student issues and files from admission through graduation, as well as providing a link between the applicant (student) and the college in which (s)he wishes to pursue a degree program.
- Graduate Assistant budget allocation as well as administration of the scholarships and fellowships
- Thesis/dissertation format compliance, Nevada residency determination for graduate students, professional development programs, graduate catalog, special programs, graduation application billing, production of admit/denial
2. What data systems do you rely on to meet those obligations?
- SIS
- SIS Data Warehouse
- Hobsons (EMT Connect and EMT Apply)
- TOPR
- DataNet
- Student Tracker
- Several other Access databases and Excel spreadsheets
- HRMS
3. Are some of these external to the "core" systems?
- Our reporting systems (MS SQL Server, MS SQL Reporting Services)
- New programs database (Access)
- Evaluation databases (Access)
- Faculty status data, Graduate Council data, Program start date data… (all Excel)
- Thesis/Dissertations and Residency (both Access and Excel)
- Graduate Assistantship and Scholarships (both Access and Excel)
4. What data is entered and managed by other departments?
- SIS data entered by Office of The Registrar
- SIS data entered by Student Accounts and Cashiering
5. What data does your unit enter and manage that is unique?
- All graduate student/assistant/faculty/education data is unique.
- Admission decision update, graduation fee charges, application receipt, NV residency determinations.
