Data Governance

Decision Support relies on the involvement of campus leadership for guidance on how information can benefit the University, on the community of data users for advice on what information is valuable to them, and on the University data stewards to develop processes and policies to ensure that all critical data is managed correctly and consistently. By facilitating communication among these constituencies, Decision Support promotes a culture of shared responsibility for data as an institutional asset.

Opportunities for campus collaboration currently exist through the Data Governance Council, the development of an institutional Data Dictionary and its community of users, the UNLV Analytics users' forum, and the development of data users groups. The campus community is encouraged to use and further develop these resources.

  • University data are institutional assets maintained to support the central missions of teaching, research, and service.
